First Audiobook Done!

So I realized that today is a unique day for me.

My first official job that I had - that was not connected to tutoring, work study or volunteering - started on June 6, 2006.

06/06/06

Yup.

I worked at a retail chain that doesn’t exist any more. I remember so vividly being excited and feeling like I was maturing. I only lasted at that job for about 6 months (lol) because I have a real problem with being belittled, talked down to, or people otherwise insinuating that I am stupid. I don’t tolerate disrespect well, and for my mental health I knew I HAD to get out of there.

Today, on yet another June 6th, I take my first big steps into being a voiceover artist! I was contracted to narrate an audiobook about dealing with stress as a teenager, and I fully completed all of my steps in ACX today! It was such an honor to have that author place his faith in me and I genuinely appreciate the patience!

I learned so much on my first big project! I am looking forward to taking all of this experience forward into my next endeavor (hoping to land another audiobook contract soon!). If the author gives his blessing, I will come back and edit the post with a link to wherever the book can be published so that you can hear a sample of my work!

I know that I will last longer than 6 months on this journey. And I will keep documenting the steps along the way <3
